Are you a sweet tooth or do you prefer savoury? Do you want to discover the history of Palma in a different way? Do you want to find out about some of the most emblematic shops in the Mallorcan capital?
If so, this guided tour is for you!
Discover some of the oldest and most emblematic businesses in the city of Palma de Mallorca with this guided tour led by Pedro from Pekes Mallorca on Saturdays at 09:30 am.
A visit with history, flavours, smells and many surprises that will not leave you indifferent.

The oldest chocolate and Horchatería in Mallorca – Can Joan de s’Aigo
Discover Can Joan de S’Aigo, the oldest chocolate and horchatería in Mallorca, founded in 1700 and one of the oldest in Europe.
Its history goes back to Joan who worked in the mountains collecting ice and transporting it to the city to sell it. Gradually, as well as selling ice and ice cream (we recommend the strawberry and almond ice creams!), he also started making chocolate, sweets and savoury products.

Bar Plata, in the heart of the Jewish quarter of Palma de Mallorca
We move on to the Call Menor or small Jewish quarter of Palma, where we come across the Bar Plata, a business that began operating in 1934 and has been run by Joan Serra’s family since 1956.
Its star dish: the lloguet. A typical Palma bread roll made with white flour and a delight for the palate. Choose your favourite llonguet: cheese, ham, sobrasada, camaiot and many more!

Fornet de la Soca, great disseminator of Mallorcan gastronomy
We will visit another of Palma’s most emblematic ovens. Although it was founded in 2008, today it is a benchmark thanks to Tomeu Arbona, who has become a great promoter of Mallorcan gastronomy.
Its cakes, sweets and savouries are a work of art and a gastronomic marvel. Let yourself be carried away by the most traditional aromas and flavours of the island of Mallorca!

A unique toy shop in Majorca: La Industrial
La Industrial toy shop, today we can consider it the only traditional toy shop on the island of Mallorca. Its history dates back to 1898. We could consider this small shop a toy museum, a place full of memories for the older ones and full of surprises for the little ones.

Sweetening the lives of Mallorcans since 1872: La Pajarita
Very close to La Industrial we find La Pajarita, founded in 1872. Today it is divided into two sections: chocolates and nougat and charcuterie.
A benchmark for the sale of handmade sweets, nougat and chocolate bonbons. It is impossible not to notice its magnificent shop windows, full of light, colour and, above all, magnificent products made with love and the best products of the island.

Forn de la Gloria, its history could date back to the 13th century.
Finally, we will finish at Forn de la Glòria, a small family business founded in 1717, but whose history may date back to the 13th century!
This bakery is very special as it is currently the only one with a traditional wood-fired oven. The aroma of freshly baked bread envelops us as soon as we enter, a marvel for all the senses.
