Tourist information in Mallorca

The tourist information is very important in Mallorca. Nowadays, in the year 2020, I dare to affirm that nobody doubts that Tourism is a fundamental sector and the engine of economic life in the Balearic Islands. Mallorca has considered the largest and most populated island is also the one that receives the most visitors.

For this reason, it is so important to announce and highlight the job of the workers who are part of the network of tourist offices that we can find in Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera. There are public offices managed by the Consellería de Turisme and others of mixed nature (private and public).

Tourist information offices are the most effective means of gathering information about the place you are going to visit. Each island has a complete municipal network of offices in tourist areas. They are always at the service of visitors to guide and help them during their stay or to plan their trip (in some local offices the opening period is limited to the months with the highest tourist influx). As soon as you land, you can go to the tourist office at Palma de Mallorca airport. It is in the “arrivals” terminal.

On the other hand, if you prefer to go directly to Palma. Do not worry, there is a tourist information centre in Plaça de la Reina, 2.

Our first recommendation to learn more about Mallorca and find out more corners of the old town of Palma is to try the Free Tour. I’m sure it sounds to you!

Well, if you like walking tours, there is a local company of official guides that organize guided tours around Palma and start right at the Parc de la Mar office. They are near the Cathedral where the lake that we have mentioned is. They start at 11:00 and 17:00 and end in Plaza España, very close to the Olivar market where you can try typical Mallorcan cuisine.
