Free Tour Legends and Modernism in Palma
This walking tour Legends and Modernism in Palma is organised by the local company Mallorca Free Tour.
We will show you new corners, stories, anecdotes and legends that perhaps you have not been told about Palma. And we will also go into the most picturesque modernist buildings (always from the outside) located in the old town of Palma. These started in the early 20th century and are closely related to Catalan modernism.
Where do we start?
We are waiting for you in Plaza Mayor. Our guides will be there with an orange umbrella just in front of the Tourism office. All the groups we organize are separated by language: in Spanish and English.
The walking tour Legends and Modernism in Palma is with the Free Tour system so, in the end, you value the price of the tour. We leave Tueasday, Thursday and Saturday at 6 p.m. The Booking is required on our website.
Where do we finish?
The tour ends in Parc de la Mar, there is a HUGE LAKE that is located just below the Cathedral of Mallorca.
What are the stops of the Free Tour Legends and Modernism in Palma?
Our afternoon Free Tour begins in Plaza Mayor, the main square where we can advise you some places to have tapas or taste the authentic Mallorcan gastronomy. Also there we do a brief historical indroduction to the city.
And now we have some stairs, our little ordeal to purify all our sins… and if you are saint, don’t worry, it will activate your circulation! Then follow the route to the parish of Sant Nicolau and then move on to the Plaça des Mercat, where some modernist buildings are placed.
Then we will walk to the church-parish of Santa Eulàlia located in the same square that bears his name. A few meters later we arrive at Plaça de Cort where we will enter the Palma town hall.
Finally, we arrive at the height of the Parc de la Mar and heads towards s’Hort des rei to continue towards the Almudaina Palace. Then we continue towards la Seu de Mallorca in front of the main portal and then go around the south facade of the building where the Portal del Mirador is located. We walk in front of the episcopal palace where the diocesan museum is located and head towards the Jewish quarter, called the Call Major. We stop in front of the Santa Clara Monastery and continue towards the Sant Francesc convent
