Discover the Cathedral of Mallorca and the Bellver castle with our official guides.
These two jewels of Majorcan Gothic architecture leave no one indifferent. Let yourself be amazed by its incredible forms and its vast historical legacy.
What to see during the Cathedral tour?
The first part of this visit begins in front of the Main Portal of the Cathedral from where we will contemplate its spectacular design and its relationship with the walls of Palma and the Mediterranean Sea.
We will access the interior of the Cathedral through the Portal de l’Almoina and visit the cathedral museum and then arrive inside the temple.
Once inside, we will be able to enjoy its structure, light and space and we will discover some of the most important reforms that have been carried out inside the Cathedral of Mallorca, such as that of Antoni Gaudí (1904-1914) and that of Miquel Barceló (2007).
All combined with curiosities about its construction, history and its tombs.
What to see during the Bellver tour?
Once we have visited the Cathedral, we will head towards s’Escollera where private transportation will wait for us to go up to Bellver Castle, 4 km away from Palma.
This construction is located 114 m above sea level and offers spectacular views of the entire city of Palma.
It was conceived as a palace-fortress by Jaume II in the early 14th century for Mallorcan royalty and strategically located to prevent future attacks. But it has also been used as a refuge in times of epidemics and social revolts and as a civil and military prison.
It currently houses the Palma History Museum and part of the collection of Greco-Roman sculptures of Cardinal Antoni Despuig.
The visit ends on the terraces of the castle to contemplate the landscape that surrounds us.
